trying some calligraphy
I have always loved fonts and calligraphy, but never really sat down and tried to do some of my own. I use lettering and “fonts” in costume all the time, for annotations and character names on designs. However I don’t often try something new or give it much time… it’s always the last thing to quickly shove on the page for the design to be complete. Therefore I have given it a go… I have tried out a load of different fonts just to get me started. I must say I really enjoyed it and will be doing this again… but I do think I need a lot of practice before it actually looks like calligraphy!
I used The Tempest character names for these, as I am currently basing a lot of my work on that play.
after i had tried these with pens... I decided to give it a go with some household objects that I found and used on a previous blog post...
